You Need Article Marketing, I Need a Laptop
So, my laptop kicked the bucket the other day. It wasn’t a big surprise, really, considering the poor thing was on about 23 hours a day and was second hand when I got it. But it leaves me in a bit of a situation.
See, we have three computers in our house. Er, had. The desktop, which my kids use. The laptop that is no more. And my husband’s laptop, which can barely be called a laptop since it is prone to overheating, is missing the most important keys (shift and backspace) and is as slow as molassas in January.
I’m currently working on the desktop. Which has caused an outcry among the little people in this house who think “mama’s mean” because she’s using their computer and they can no longer play Thomas and Friends or Reader Rabbit. I actually was asked to leave the house by my 4 year old the other day because he wanted to use the computer and knows he’s only getting on if I’m heading out to do shopping. I felt so loved.
So, that brings us to . . . how you can help me get a laptop. Probably another used one, to keep costs down.
I’ve recently opened up two new services. If you’re on my mailing list, you already heard about them, but now they’re going public!
If you’ve been thinking about trying out article marketing but just don’t have time to add to your busy schedule, let me help. I’ll write the articles on your keywords, you approve them, then I will submit them to the same 35 article directories that I use for my own article marketing. Nice and easy, you basically have nothing to do!
And, if that’s not good enough, I’m also offering a super discount to the first ten people who grab a package (up to $175 discount, depending on the package you choose!). So pop over here to see which package suits your needs.
Squidoo is a GREAT way to promote your business or it can be a business in and of itself. So, I’m selling a few of my lenses off, as well as doing custom lenses. Personally, I love Squidoo, so if you find it confusing or frustrating to work with, I can build your lenses for you.
Interested in helping me escape the wrath of my children? I’ll be forever grateful!

I’ve had this laptop (an Acer Aspire 2025WLMi) since the summer of 2004, right before I headed to college that fall. It’s been fantastic — no Windows crashes or reinstalls, no viruses, no spyware…perfect.
Unfortunately within 2 minutes of taking it out of the box when it originally arrived, I realized it had a slight manufacturing defect — the snaps to hold the lid in place when it’s closed don’t line up properly with the holes in the body of the laptop. This is easily resolved by pushing the lid slightly backwards as I’m closing the laptop so everything lines up. No issues for almost 4 years, although recently it has been getting more and more difficult to close.
I’m sure many of you know that over time with laptops, the lubricant for the hinges of the lid slowly wears out with each open/close cycle and the lid doesn’t move as smoothly as it did when it was new. On my machine I can feel the hinges not want to move….not moving…..*creak* as the lid closes and the hinges finally move.
Earlier in the library today, the left hinge finally gave out. I’m wondering if pushing it backwards over the past 3.5 years slowly wore away at it; I’m sure over the past few days it was cracking, but today it finally broke. The piece of metal on the hinge snapped as I was closing my laptop.
Four years is still pretty good for a laptop, I’d think. Is there anyway to replace the hinge?
