Why You Should Consider Writing a Book
I have a particular interest in self-publishing, since I´m a writer and am currently in the process of writing two books (which will be available to my blog readers at a special discount
). However, it is a theme that is interesting to many people, even those who don´t necessarily write much.
Ebooks are super simple to compile these days. If you have enough knowledge on a subject to write 10+ pages on it, you are able to put out a book. Why would you want to? Well, if you give out a free ebook or report, you can have your business name and website on every page, directing people back to you. This can be a powerful promotional tool.
Print books can be a great way to earn some money as well as recognition for your business, too. If you write your own book on the topic area of your business, you are establishing yourself and an expert, which can only help you grow! It can be hard to get a book deal, though, so many people turn to self-publishing, which isn´t as maligned as it was a decade or so ago.
Today, while browsing, I came across a website that can help anyone interested in writing and publishing a book. Para Publishing is really trying to sell you their self-publishing kits, which are quite expensive, but they also offer some good free information for anyone getting started. I´m not affiliated with them in any way, just thought the articles might be interesting to my readers.
If you are looking for a place to self-publish, there are many vanity publishers, but I would advise you to be very careful of handing over large amounts of money to a company you aren´t familiar with. It pays to do some research. I´m in the beginning stages of doing this research myself, since my books are not yet finished, but one of the places I´m looking at is Lulu.com. If anyone has any experience, good or bad, with Lulu or any other self-publishing company, please let me know.

Great topic! Personally, I have often thought about putting together an e-book. I had not heard of Para Publishing, so this is good information. I have heard some good things about Lulu, although I have never used them. Best of luck with your publishing endeavors!
I think ebooks are a great way to get started in publishing, although print books will never go away. Let me know if you do publish one and we can add your success story here!
