Where`s Your Home Office?
As work at home moms, we have a bit of a dilema. On one hand, having a home office to work in can be a huge benefit, allowing you to get away from distractions and focus on work. On the other . . . if you have children at the age where they still need a lot of attention, you probably need to be working where you can keep an eye on them.
So, I`m curious about my readers . . . where do you work? Here`s my thought, either take photos and send them to me at athomemomblog@gmail.com and I`ll post them in an upcoming blog post with a link to you, or post them yourself on your own blog and send me the link, either via email or in the comments and I`ll link to them in that same upcoming post. Or, you can just describe it in the comments!
In the meantime, here`s where I work (yes, I know I`m behind the times with the big old monitor, care to start a collection to get me a flat screen? lol):

Yup, I work in the kitchen. Our house is actually very small, so this is the main room, which is the kitchen/dining/living room all in one, which means I`m right in the middle of all the chaos that happens all day long! It does mean I can watch the boys as they play, though and they know that they can always come to me for a story or a snack and I`m right there, able to comment on their activities. For the moment, it works, though I`m really looking forward to getting out of the house to work on occasion now that my laptop battery has arrived!

[...] Where`s Your Home Office? [...]
Hey Genesis –
It sounds like we may be in the same boat here as I too have a very small house.
I am parked at our “kitchen table” – otherwise known as my desk. From here, I can see out to the wide open living room and toy room and know exactly when my boys are getting into mischief
Funny thing is that we have a great – almost real – office in the basement that was set up for me. Don’t know what I was thinking . . .

Well, my office started out on the bedroom floor with a 12″ laptop for almost one year. I then moved to a desk in our bedroom. Hubby didn’t like that too much. So the playroom that we had adjacent to our family turned back into an office and a game room for the kids. So I now share that space with the kids. In the evenings when it is bath time, my laptop and me go upstairs to watch kids in bath. My son has seizures so I can not leave him alone. So my office is pretty much mobile with my laptop. My office last year moved to Childrens Hospital hospital Room for 3 months while my son was recovering from seizures. I also take it when he goes to therapy sessions and when he goes to tutoring. My office has feet and travels with me.
