Where`s Your Home Office?

As work at home moms, we have a bit of a dilema. On one hand, having a home office to work in can be a huge benefit, allowing you to get away from distractions and focus on work. On the other . . . if you have children at the age where they still need a lot of attention, you probably need to be working where you can keep an eye on them.

So, I`m curious about my readers . . . where do you work? Here`s my thought, either take photos and send them to me at athomemomblog@gmail.com and I`ll post them in an upcoming blog post with a link to you, or post them yourself on your own blog and send me the link, either via email or in the comments and I`ll link to them in that same upcoming post. Or, you can just describe it in the comments!

In the meantime, here`s where I work (yes, I know I`m behind the times with the big old monitor, care to start a collection to get me a flat screen? lol):

Yup, I work in the kitchen. Our house is actually very small, so this is the main room, which is the kitchen/dining/living room all in one, which means I`m right in the middle of all the chaos that happens all day long! It does mean I can watch the boys as they play, though and they know that they can always come to me for a story or a snack and I`m right there, able to comment on their activities. For the moment, it works, though I`m really looking forward to getting out of the house to work on occasion now that my laptop battery has arrived!

Your turn!

  2. Hey Genesis –

It sounds like we may be in the same boat here as I too have a very small house.

I am parked at our “kitchen table” – otherwise known as my desk. From here, I can see out to the wide open living room and toy room and know exactly when my boys are getting into mischief :)

Funny thing is that we have a great – almost real – office in the basement that was set up for me. Don’t know what I was thinking . . .
