I have just come across a very interesting website called bla.st. If you have a blog, website or business that you would like to promote, this is the place to do it. The concept is simple, but innovative and since they are just getting started, it is the perfect time to get in on the ground floor, for absolutely nothing.
This is a visual based program, so you will need to have some very basic graphics skills in order to design your ad. Or you could just hire your teen to design one for you! You basically need a small card or ad to put up on the website. This is made clickable and will go to any link you desire, as long as it isn’t a referral or affiliate link. You can see some examples below.
Your card is added to the website under the appropriate category once you have set up an account (super simple, just email and password!) and you are done. However, there are two options on bla.st. If you want to set up a free ad, that is no problem. But free ads are relegated to the very bottom of the pile, where it is quite likely that no one will even see them. If you want to improve your ranking, you can set an amount per day to pay. Since the site is so new, this can be as low as one cent per day ($3.65 per year), and you can change this at any point. Having your ad on the first page for its keywords will obviously result in a higher number of clicks.
Paying for your ad placement also ensures that you get placed on the widgets, such as the one I placed earlier in this post. To top things off, bla.st also features a beta version of their referral program. You can earn up to 50% of what any referrals pay for their ads. Which could very well pay for your own ads!
