Using Halloween to Promote Your Home Business
Halloween is a huge holiday, almost as big as Christmas. While not everyone celebrates this season, it certainly has an effect on sales. Turn Halloween into a promo opportunity for your home business and you are likely to see big results.
Even if your business has nothing to do with anything remotely spooky, you can still use a fun sale to boost income during this season. Just advertise your new Spooky Savings. Here are a few more ideas for promoting:
- Print up a flyer on orange paper and hand them out.
- Include Halloween themed business cards along with your holiday treats (pop-up cards make fun ones).
- Offer online October savings with the word “Spooky”, “creepy”, etc.
- Write some articles for directories on the holiday, with links back to your site.
And, of course, if you DO have a product based business, you can easily add a little Halloween joy to your products. For example, a candlemaking business could easily decorate some orange candles with black bat cutouts or produce some pumpkin scented candles. If you sew, why not turn out some cute baby costumes? The ideas here are endless.

Liz, if you promote your products outside of your country, then it’s often worth promoting Halloween. For example, I live in Guatemala where Halloween is not a holiday at all (we celebrate Day of the Dead), but I have many American clients, so I still use Halloween as a marketing tool.
