Twitter for At Home Moms

Twitter is a social media network that has been growing very rapidly over the past year or so. It`s a mix of blogging and networking and it can be a lot of fun. I`ve built up my own network of other work at home moms there and enjoy interacting with them on a daily basis. One of these moms is Traci Knoppe, a work at home mom of six.

Traci has just released a guide called How to Tackle Twitter and she was nice enough to let me get a sneak peak (see, there are advantages to networking on Twitter!). It`s a great guide, whether you are just getting started with Twitter or are actually on there but aren`t sure how to make it useful for your business.

The guide walks you through everything, from signing up to what you should write for your first tweet. That might sound pretty basic, but the real gems are hidden in between. Some of the stuff that Traci talks about you won`t find elsewhere and can make all the difference in your business networking. For example, she gives pointers on setting up your profile page and how to write a bio that will catch the search engines` attention as well as attract followers. She also discusses different strategies for following people and provides a wealth of off-Twitter resources that can help you manage your account . . . many of them I`ve never heard of, though I`ve been on Twitter for more than a year.

If you`re wondering if Twitter really can help your business, let me just share a few of the benefits I`ve experienced so far:

  • Increased traffic. No, I`m not pulling in hundreds a day, but people are definitely checking out my blog via Twitter.
  • New opportunities. I`ve had the chance to respond to people tweeting about writing needed and it`s resulted in more work.
  • Free stuff. Hey, I got to check out How to Tackle Twitter . . . something that never would have happened if I weren`t networking!

On top of these benefits, you get the chance to talk to other people, something that can be a little scarce when you`re a work at home mom. So, if you are interested in making the most of this valuable networking tool, I highly recommend this guide. And for $9, it won`t break the bank, either!
