Time Management for Work at Home Mom
I`m doing a project with Squidoo called RocketMoms . . . it`s a 6 week intensive course that is teaching moms to get more out of Squidoo and let me just say that it is an AMAZING group of woman, many of whom are work at home moms. Even without the useful Squidoo information that we are learning on a daily basis, simply the networking aspect of this group is incredible.
The other day, a discussion was started on the RocketMoms forum about time management and everyone chimed in with their best tips for getting things done. Though the group is private at the moment (upon graduation, I`ll be able to invite 5 friends so let me know if you`re interested in that), I thought I`d share some of the useful tips that were shared among the moms there.
Time Management Tips
- Work on the move. Take a notebook or mini laptop
with you to work on while waiting at the dentist or a soccer game and get more done.
- Do something for 15 min. When you`re feeling overwhelmed, just work for 15 minutes at a time. You`d be amazed at what you can do in this amount of time!
- Join Flylady. The Flylady is an excellent website that actually emails you tasks to do each day to reduce the clutter in your home by taking tiny baby steps.
- Delegate. Get your kids and husband to take on some of the responsibilities. Sure, you`ll spend some time training the kids to do things properly, but it will pay off later when they can do it all on their own, plus they`re learning valuable life skills.
- Make a list. Many moms find that a list is the only way to ensure they`ll actually remember everything they need to get done. You can make your list randomly or you can organize it by order in which you`ll accomplish things.
- Email yourself. If you frequently check your email, this can be an excellent way to send reminders to yourself. If you are out and about, send yourself a message from your phone when you think of it and it will be in your inbox when you get home.
