Stop Giving Yourself Excuses

For the past three nights, my toddler has woken up in the middle of the night and not gone back to sleep until 3 or 4 am. It makes for a very interrupted night for me and quite frankly, I havent been too active with my writing or anything else these days. Which means, instead of earning money, Im just spending it!

When you work at home, it is very easy to make excuses for yourself. Had a sleepless night thanks to your kids? That doesnt mean you dont have to get things done the next day! It can be so tempting to take a day off because you are tired or feeling a tad under the weather and although it is part of the appeal of working at home, we have to be careful. Too much time off and you can lose a lot of money.

Lets face it, if you were still working a regular 9-5, youd have to get up and go to work even if your kids were bouncing off the walls all night! Even if you dragged yourself through the day, you would manage to get everything done and trudge home again at the end of the day, jobs completed. While you can certainly allow yourself some slack since you are at home, you still need to look at your home business as a job.

Its something that I am still learning and really only thought of today! So, here I am, exhausted, wanting desperately to sleep, but focused on getting at least this blog and three articles written before I succumb to a nap! Pushing through and not making excuses is the only way you will succeed in the work at home environment, so get cracking!
