Resources for Writing Moms
If you`re a freelance writer like me, you probably find yourself constantly coming back to the same freelance writing sites and not really branching out to any new ones. Well, recently, I started checking out some other writing websites and found some great ones that are ideal resources for any writing mom.
Learning About Writing
WOW! Women On Writing is a very cool website that is pretty new to me. The articles there are absolutely amazing in their depth. Beware, though . . . you`ll end up spending hours on this site, reading through back issues of the WOW magazine, there`s just too much information to skim.
The number one freelance writing blog that I visit every day is Freelance Writing Gigs, which was started by a work at home mom, Deb. The site has recently expanded to include the tireless Jodee who puts up daily job leads gleaned from the net. But there is WAY more information than just job leads there, so check it out.
Freelance Switch is an excellent website that is run by a community of writers, all offering their tips and advice on the topic of writing. I really enjoy their blog posts on all different types of writing.
Another website worth checking out if you are a writer is About Freelance Writing. Lots of information and articles there, as well as some writing jobs.
And, I know I mention them in just about every blog post like this, but Freelance Parent really is an amazing resource for writing moms. Written by two moms who write, the blog is a really good place to learn all about the business of writing.
Searching for Jobs
If you`re hunting for freelance jobs (and what writer isn`t), then you might want to take a look at one of the following sites . . . Online Writing Jobs, Craigslist, or Elance.
Here is a Magazine Guidelines Database that can help you land that print assignment you`ve always dreamed of.
And, if you are interested in the latest writing jobs available, may I suggest this site? They have feeds from a variety of job sites, pulling in constantly updated lists of jobs for freelancers.
Please share your favorite freelance writing websites in the comments . . . I`m open to checking out even more.

Oooh goody! I hadn’t heard of the WOW site until today. Thanks for the heads up! I’ll pass it along to my Working Writer Happy Writer readers, too.
Love your blog header, by the way – very, very cool!
The fact that you continually find Freelance Parent worthy of these lists means a lot to us. We’re coming up on our one-year anniversary, and it’s so great that folks still find the blog to be helpful.
I love the second site you mentioned. Recommend it too =)
