Productivity in Wasted Moments
There is a lot of dead time throughout the day. If you think about it, you`ll realize that you have a lot of short bits of time, 5-15 min. where nothing is going on. Whether you`re waiting for traffic to move, waiting for a child to get out of class or waiting on the water to boil, there are plenty of moments that are essentially wasted.
While it`s good to have down time, time is at a premium this time of year. Just think of how much you could get done if you had all those bits and pieces of time all at once! Well, you won`t be getting them all at once, but having something on hand that you can work on in those short periods of time will make you more productive.
A few ideas on what to do with wait times . . .
- Make a shopping list
- Make a gift list
- Address envelopes for Christmas cards or other mail outs
- Work on cross-stitch ornaments
- Mend something
- Sketch up a new product design or package
- Dictate some ideas (perfect for traffic)
- Do some squats or sit ups (in your own home, of course!)
Can you come up with more ideas to turn wasted moments into productive time?

I try to look around and see if there’s anything that needs to be put away, thrown away, or wiped off.
