North Carolina Real Estate Commission is an independent state governmental agency, the primary function of this commission is to license and regulate real estate agents. Real estate agents encompass the person or firms who sell, who lease real estate for others. North Carolina Real Estate Commission is often linked to North Carolina Association of Realtors or also known as Realtors, at which is a trade organization. The commission is not authorized to hand legal advice or answer questions regarding legal subjects other than subjects under the North Carolina Real Estate Law or the rules promulgated by the Real Estate Commission.
The mission and goal of North Carolina Real Estate Commission are to protect the public interest in real estate brokerage transactions, to assure that the licensees are competent and morally qualified to be a real estate brokers, to assure that the licensees comply with the standards of the real estate practices which are imposed by the real estate law and Commission rules, to be able to address the issues that can affect the consumers and practitioners of the real estate and lastly, to effectively and efficiently administer the Commission programs and operations in line with the North Carlina Real Estate Law.
The objectives of NC Real Estate Commission in assuring the licensees to be competent are to effectively administer, monitor and improve the quality of the prelicensing education program, the license examination program, the continuing education program and the post-licensing education program.
The NC Real Estate Commission objectives to assure licensees have complied the practice standards of the real estate law and Commission rules are, to investigate complaints against licensees in a thorough and timely manner, to manage disciplinary and application cases in an efficient and timely manner and for the licensees and consumers to serve as a real estate information.
The objectives of NC Real Estate Commission in identifying and addressing the issues affecting the consumers and practitioners of the real estate are, to detect and monitor unusual problems and areas of concern that has affected the consumers and practitioners, to be able to adopt the positions, promulgate the rules and propose legislation to address problems and concerns, and to be able to disseminate to licensees and consumers the information that addresses the subjects of concern and special interests.
The NC Real Estate Commission has an objective of, to employ, train and manage the staff to effectively conduct Commission business, for the staffs to effectively conduct Commission business efficient office facilities and equipment that are necessary to work must be provided, support the Commission operations funds should be assured before time and for efficient and effective conducting Commission business systems and procedures should be conducted, these objectives are to effectively and efficiently administer the programs and operations of the Commission.
Policy-making regarding licensing and regulatory matters with the North Carolina real estate brokers as their target is a sole responsibility of the Commission. Real Estate Commission meetings are open to the public, real estate licensees and consumers are openly welcome.
