Meal Planning for Work at Home Moms
Do you find yourself scrambling to figure out what´s for dinner every evening? I do. It´s a bit ridiculous really, when you can simply do up a meal plan ahead of time. For work at home moms, meal planning can save the day.
The whole idea is that you plan out your meals a week or two in advance. When you go shopping, you make sure that you have all the ingredients for the meals on your list, which means no last minute trips to the store for milk or eggs that you´ve run out of. And, every night, you´ll know exactly what you´re making ahead of time.
The internet is your friend if you are a work at home mom. Well, it would be anyway, but it allows you to find recipes and save them online. I usually try to print out the ones that I´m going to be using that week and clip them to the meal plan so it is nice and easy to find the recipe for what you´ll be making each evening.
Another good tip is to plan for breakfasts and lunches, as well. If you don´t , you´ll end up using ingredients you had planned for dinner and then you are right back in the same pickle! Plan on paper, on a spreadsheet or use a cookbook program or website. Really, anything that works for you is a good idea!

I am really one of the luckiest ladies around. I always say that I “won the spouse lottery.” My meal planning system involves waiting for my husband to get home from work and then asking “what’s for dinner?” He cooks about 98% of the time! He enjoys both cooking and eating more than I do, so it just worked out this way. I used to feel really guilty about it, like I wasn’t being a good “wife,” but he made it clear that this was just the way our family works, and there’s nothing wrong with it.
That´s great, Lorna.
My husband can cook steaks and that´s about the extent of his culinary skill, lol. But there is definitely nothing wrong with splitting the household chores!
