Is Your Blog Following?

If you have a blog with Wordpress, you might be interested in the relatively new trend sweeping the blogosphere. Blogs everywhere are installing Do Follow plugins to inactivate the automatic \\”no follow\\” tags that Wordpress uses on comments. By deactivating this feature, you are allowing search engines to follow links left by commenters. This encourages people to add their comments to your blog.

Up until now, there hasnt really been a good way to figure out which blogs are using the Do Follow plugin or not. However, over on GeekySpeaky there is a new D-list being started where everyone using this handy plugin can sign up. You get publicity for your blog and help other bloggers out with link love. Check out the website for instructions. I have had difficulties copying the links to my blog, so I will simply refer you for now!

  1. I follow on a number of my blogs.

Nice layout here by the way.

  2. I implemented a Do Follow plugin not long ago myself. I tried your link above to check out the GeekySpeaky list but it didn’t work for me.

An easy way to see if a blog uses no follow is to right click, view source, then do a quick search the comments on the page. You’ll see if it says no follow next to the commentors links or not…

I still find it’s great to participate on blogs that use the no follow tag though. It’s still a terrific way to network.
