How Women Deal with Recession
We women are hardy creatures, despite the fact that we have been portrayed as the weaker sex throughout history. We hear stories of women who forcibly kept their families going long after all hope was gone, during hard times. Well, for some families, those times have come again. And, once more, women are showing their true colors. If you’re getting depressed by the economy and the ever unpleasant news on the television, check out these awesome stories of perserverance.
Mortgage Apple Cakes
Angela Logan was struck hard when her agent’s company went under, leaving the actor out thousands of dollars. Not only that, but she had to repair her home after a major storm and the project went way overbudget. Discovering that the bank was about to forclose, she quickly came up with a plan.
Logan started baking and selling “Mortgage Apple Cakes” to make the required payments of $2,500, the first of which was due in 10 days. She made that payment and is ready to make the remaining ones, thanks to the help of many people who bought her cakes, as well as Bake Me A Wish, a not for profit bakery. You can read the story here.
500 Hats
Another woman, another home about to be lost. In desperation this Giant Squid put up a Squidoo page letting the world know about her problems. She isn’t just complaining though, she is already working hard on a plan to make sure she can pay off the bank and ensure that her home isn’t taken from her.
Interestingly enough, Bette Miles-Holleman (aka. badmsm) is RocketMom and I worked with her through the group we recently did. She’s decided to knit 500 hats before August 31, selling them for $10, to raise the money. You can read her story or buy a hat here.

i think that the Economic Recession would soon be over in the following years. there are lots of positive indicators in the world economy.
Hi Everyone:
Well, I was a salesperson on the road selling home decor products to retailers in the state of Florida. Starting in the fall of 2006, the economy first started to turn sour and in Feb 2007 one of my major lines declared bankruptcy. Then my other lines started to also fall apart.
I decided to build an affiliate website about wall decor for the home. I am beginning to see “light at the end of the tunnel” and hopefully I can help women decorate their homes and also make some money to pay my own bills as well as having a bit of fun.
I believe that building niche websites is another good way for stay at home moms to make a few bucks, communicate and share thoughts with other moms and make a few bucks to boot.
I’m going to hire Genesis to help me promote my site with some articles. She’s right, you can’t do it all yourself.
