How to Boost Squidoo Rank in 2 Weeks

If you have a Squidoo lens or two that is languishing in the depths of the lensrank ocean, it might be time to dust that sucker off and bring it to the surface again. You can use the technique I´m about to outline on new lenses, as well, to help them zip to higher rankings in a short amount of time.

Start with a lens that has at least 3 modules and which is featured. You can tell if your lens is featured (which means it is available in Squidoo searches) by the green checkmark in a circle beside the name in your dashboard.

Step One: Each day for 7 days, add one module. These don´t need to be big long articles. In fact, I would suggest adding only two text modules in this time and then spicing your lens up with a poll, a Blackbox (for highlighting important info) and maybe a video module or a photo using Big Picture or Polaroid. The idea is to make sure there is something new each day, which adds value to the lens. Make sure you publish after each change!

Step Two: Every other day, after publishing, send out the link to your lens. One day you might post it on your blog (I´d wait until the end of the week to do this), another you might put it on Facebook, or tweet it out on Twitter. The idea is to get people to visit, which boosts traffic, which can help with ranking.

Step Three: Spend some time each day finding similar lenses that are well done (stay away from the poorly done ones!). First, rank these lenses (aim for 2-3 per day), then leave a comment letting the lensmaster know you liked it. Next, click on the lensmaster´s photo up in the right hand corner and go to their bio page where you can “become a fan”. The reason you do this is to catch their attention.

Step Four: For the next 7 days, just tweak your lens. You can add modules if you want, but you should be changing things to make the lens better on a daily basis. Adding photos to modules, switching module order, changing headlines, etc. are all great ways to enhance it. Remember to publish after each change!

Don’t try to do this with all your lenses at once, you’ll go insane if you have a lot! Instead, focus on just one or two. Also, keep in mind that you don’t need to have all your lenses in the top 1,000, if you’re in the top 50,000, you’re doing great! It’s also totally normal for lenses to move up adn down on their own, so don’t worry if that happens. You can usually boost them again with the above treatment.
