Home Business Lessons from a Spider

It`s the rainy season here in Guatemala and that means the spiders are moving indoors. There`s one particularly large one that lives above my water dispenser and so far has eluded attempts to kill it. And somehow, that spider inspired a blog post! So, here are the lessons I`ve learned from this rather nasty looking critter.

Pick a great location. Whether you are online or off, location has a lot to do with how successful your business it. You`re attempting to catch clients, as opposed to flies, but that doesn`t mean you should ignore the location!

When things go wrong . . . don`t give up. I`ve swept this particular spider`s web down several times and it just pops back out and starts again each time. There are always down periods when you`re starting your home business, but if you don`t give up, you`ll eventually reach your goals.

Sometimes you need to chill out. Taking time out will make you more productive when you jump back into the fray. My spider tends to hide out in a crack by the ceiling when things are getting to be too much, but it emerges refreshed the next day to rebuild that web. Taking a short vacation can really help you be more useful in your home business, try it and you`ll see for yourself.

The fact of the matter is, when you`re working on a home business, you`ll meet some obstacles and it can be pretty tempting to just give up. By pushing on, you`ll reach places you never thought were possible.
