Copywriting isn’t the only type of freelance writing available. I do very little in the way of sales copy, for example. Nearly all of my work is SEO (search engine optimized) content, which is just writing about various topics (everything from tea tree oil to raising toddlers) and using the provided keywords. No sales involved.

I’ve tried to write copy and bought a very expensive course from Clayton Makepeace a while back. I discovered that I’m not an A Type personality and more oriented towards the service industry. It seems no matter what I write regarding sales copy, it doesn’t grab anybody.

There is definitely a market for talented writers. But if you discover like I did that you don’t have that talent, move on…

I’d be pretty careful with that method, since it could get you nailed for plagiarism if they don’t rewrite it completely. Most buyers check with Copyscape, so you have to be very careful.

If freelance writing is not for you then there are other ways to make a few extra bucks in no time using your computer and a bit of your spare time. All it takes is a clear idea of what you want and knowing what you are prepared to put in for that reward.
