Find Time for Hobbies
Hobbies? You`re probably laughing at me right now . . . after all, hobbies are pretty much the last thing on a work at home mom`s to do list, but they really are important.
I used to paint and draw almost constantly before having kids. I even sold a handful of paintings, but mostly I did it for fun and because it calmed me and let my emotions and stresses flow out onto the paper. It was cathartic. But, since having kids, starting up a freelance writing business and a myriad of other things, painting and anything artistic has fallen by the wayside.
Obviously work at home moms, or moms in general, for that matter, don`t have hours every day to spend on a favorite hobby, but even taking the time once or twice a week to do something that you enjoy and have left behind can be enough to brighten the day.
We all need to remember that we are important, too. While your kids and husband and business need your attention, you need to give yourself some attention, too! So, set aside a little time, perhaps in the evening once the kids are in bed, and do what you love. Even if it`s just once a week.

This is a good kick in the pants for me! Between working at home, keeping up the house, being a mom, and everything else that is calling me, I haven’t spent any time doing anything for myself recently.
