Could Skype Help You Save Money?

I recently signed up for Skype and found that it is a great way to communicate with people. My last attempt at using an internet-based phone was about 4 years ago and the voices came through digitalized and there were a lot of drop-outs and delays. Not so anymore. Now you get real phone sound!

If you find that you are frequently making long-distance phone calls to clients or business partners, it could be worth your while to look into Skype. To tell you the truth, I don´t know their rates for computer to land calls, but if the person you want to talk to has Skype as well, you can speak for free.

Since I live in Guatemala and all of my business contacts are in other countries, I find that Skype makes it possible for me to speak directly with potential business partners when I would not be able to do so from my regular phone. There is also a webcam option, so you have the ability to speak face-to-face with your clients, as it were.

Now, some might argue that Skype is too unprofessional for a business, but I don´t believe that. The world is turning more and more toward technology and anything that makes life easier, such as this program, is a big help in the business world. You might be surprised to find that your business contacts are already on Skype! If not, then you can always do things the old fashioned way.  I do encourage you to try this technology out, though.

Are you a work at home mom who has put the power of internet phones to good use? How about sharing with us? I haven´t had many comments lately and I would love to know what you moms are up to out there! You can also drop me an email: athomemomblog AT gmail.com.
