There are days when every work at home mom feels like just curling up in bed and staying there for a day or two. Maybe your toddler has hit the Terrible Twos or your teen is rebelling or maybe the housework has just gotten to you. You´re exhausted and can´t think past getting out of bed.
Even on days like this, when you just feel like you can´t deal with anything, you can still be productive. Here are some steps to get you going on those too-tired-to-think days.
1. Get out of bed and get dressed. You´ll feel a tad more awake if you aren´t wearing pjs and bunny slippers.
2. Have something to eat. Your body (and brain) can´t function well without fuel.
3. Sit down with a cup of tea or coffee and pick three things to do today. That´s it, just three. Three is manageable, right?
4. Write those three things down on a piece of paper and write the steps to complete each one.
5. Finish your tea or coffee and start in immediately on the first thing.
6. Take a little break, have a snack, etc. after you finish the first task is done.
7. Go for a brisk walk down the driveway. Get outside for a minute.
8. Do the second task.
9. Take a break, but don´t lie down. A walk around the block is perfect.
10. Do the third task.
11. Lie down and have a nap, if you can. You can rest since you know you´ve accomplished what you needed to for the day.
What are your tricks for getting through the day and being productive even when you are walking in a cloud of sleep deprivation?
