Can You Choose to Be Happy?

I just read an interesting post about choosing to be happy, over at Millionaire Mommy, a blog worth checking out! The blog post, I Choose Happiness. Do You? is very useful and could apply to pretty much everyone, in my opinion.

Basically, it talks about the author´s experiences with her mother who was dying of cancer. It´s very easy to get caught up in things like this and let them cloud your life, but she decided not to let it get her down. Instead, she focused on things that made her happy, small things like puppy dog breath.

The title is profound. I choose happiness. You can change it to say anything. Do you choose to be unstressed? Do you choose to be relaxed and patient? There are so many areas of our lives that we could apply this. I personally am already working on this. First thing every morning, I write down five things that I´m thankful for. That´s not easy at times, when I´ve been up all night with the baby and see that my blog numbers have dropped, or that a deal fell through. But I do it. And it is something that is very helpful in reminding me that there is always something positive to look at.

We choose whether to dwell on the dark side of things or look at the bright side.

  1. Thanks so much for mentioning my post in yours! You are right– most things in life ARE a choice. Remembering this can feel overwhelming at times, but very liberating.
