A New Way to Get Traffic to Your Blog

Do you have a blog? We´ve discussed establishing a web presence for your business here on At Home Mom many times and a blog is the ideal way to get started. However, traffic is always an issue. Unless you happen to hit on a very specialized niche with no competition and hundreds of visitors, you´ll most likely need to work to get people to check out your blog.

The other day, I got an email from a blogger that had a rather unique and interesting way to grab new visitors. Essentially, you are borrowing them from other blogs that are similar in content to your own. I dislike those ad toolbars that earn you a pageview every time you use them, but this is an original twist on that.

If you look to the right of this post and down a bit, you´ll see a new widget in my toolbar that displays 5 posts from other business related blogs. Every time this page or any other page on my blog loads, that counts as one point. And for every point, one of my blog posts is displayed on someone else´s widget. So, if 200 people load one page here, I get my posts shown 200 times elsewhere.

The reason this is a good idea is because I feel that it adds value to my blog. It isn´t just another ad, which you´ll notice are few and far between here on At Home Mom. In fact, you´ll probably find a post or two that interests you if you go take a look right now. Also, new posts appear every time you reload the page, so there is always something new.

So, how can this help you? Well, if you click on the tag at the bottom of the widget you will go to BlogRush, where you can watch a video that explains exactly how this works and sign up for your own widget. Installing is super simple, just copy and paste the HTML they give you into your sidebar.

Why should you get more traffic? Because the more traffic you have to your blog, the more people will see you and your product and the better chance you have of earning some cash. Which is what you need, right? So, if you have a blog, go sign up for your BlogRush widget now.

If you don´t have a blog, why not start one where you can talk about your business and products? I suggest Blogger for those of you wanting to start out on a free platform. As soon as you have your blog set up, head over to BlogRush and sign up for your free widget.
