- Sell potted herbs. Lots of people would love to have their own herb garden, but don`t know where to start . . . offer them potted herbs that you`ve grown from seeds.
- Restaurant provider. Did you know that many restaurants prefer to buy local? If you have space for some popular crops like lettuce, tomatoes, or herbs, talk to restaurants in your area to see if they would be interested in buying from you.
- Gardening services. Not everyone is blessed with a green thumb, so you can build a business out of tending other people`s gardens.
- Office gardens. Bring a little of the outdoors into office buildings by providing companies with potted and hanging plants . . . build on the service by coming in regularly to water for a fee.
- Moss baskets. Create pretty baskets from dried vines or use wire ones, then stuff with moss, add dirt and flowers and sell for a tidy profit.
- Gardening classes. You`d be surprised how many people want to learn the basics, like fertilizing or pruning. If you have the skills, why not teach them?
- Floral arrangements. Whether you grow the flowers yourself or buy them wholesale, you can make some good money providing bouquets and arrangements for weddings, parties and other events.
- Lawn care. Making sure people`s lawns stay green and lush can be difficult, but rewarding financially if you have the touch.
- Container gardening. Appeal to the apartment dwellers with pre-planted container gardens to provide a little touch of nature on their balcony or in a window.
- Garden accessories. You don`t need to actually garden in order to start a related business. What about selling those cute little garden gnomes . . . but personalized? Garden accessories can be a great way to get involved in a gardening business.
- Organic veggies. People love organic, but it can be pretty darn expensive. Offer a healthy, lower priced alternative and you`ll have a lot of business.
- Homemade jams and jellies. Preserves made the old-fashioned way, with homegrown fruits and berries tend to draw people. You could also add a line of preserves to use up your vegetables.
- Video courses. If you prefer not to offer real life courses, grab a camera and start showing people how to do things themselves, whether in the garden or with their houseplants.
- Compost. Are you great at making compost? Many gardeners will happily buy well-made compost to give their veggies a boost.
- Plant care. This isn`t just for people who are traveling . . . many families just don`t have the time or energy to look after plants, but still enjoy the ambiance created. You can pop in every few days to water and feed their plants.
- Tree planting. Shade trees are very useful these days, particularly with people becoming more and more interested in saving on their electric bills.
- Dried flowers. Drying flowers that you grow can provide a year round business. Turn them into lovely crafts and you can earn even more money.
- Wreaths. Whether you`re looking to earn extra cash for the holidays or want to start a year round business, you can make wreaths fit the bill. Elegant ones with lavender or dried roses make pretty decorations for summer so there`s no need to stick to Christmas.
- Terrariums. Mini greenhouses with tiny plants and moss are a great way to add a little nature to an apartment, office or other small space and they are pretty easy to make and sell. Add whimsy by making little fairy trails and houses in them, as well.
- Flower cards. Make your own paper, add some seeds and turn them into cards, envelopes and other pretty paper products that can then be planted by the recipient to turn out a lovely bunch of flowers or herbs.
- Bonsai. While growing these mini trees can take a long time, they also demand great prices. In addition, you can usually teach classes on the fine art of pruning and maintaining these lovely works of living art.
- Resell seeds. If you have good, healthy plants in your garden, you can harvest and then resell the seeds to eager gardeners.
- Growing kits. Why not put together a kit that will help new gardeners or children start their first garden? It could include easy to grow seeds, a pot, soil and instructions on how to grow things.
- Write a book. If you know a lot about a specific area of gardening, why not write it all down? You don`t have to publish a print book, you could do an ebook or even a series of ebooks and sell them online.
- Exotic plants. This can be a fun business idea if you have the space to grow exotic plants like Venus flytraps and orchids. Most exotic plants will require a greenhouse, however, so keep that in mind when planning the budget.

#2 can work. The “mom and pop” stores love the local product, and being a regular customer of theirs is a great way to start selling to them. Thanks, Nikki http://www.babycharmed.com/
Try planting a piece of fresh ginger in a pot.
It grows quickly into an attractive plant which
produces even more ginger.
Your friends will love it.
In these tough times.
Planting and growing your own fruit and vegetables
can make a difference to your outgoings. You will
be surprised how quickly they grow in the summer months.
Great fun too for the kids.
Just another idea-create a gardening club with different members growing vegetables in containers and then share or start a small farmers market. (I really like my sideplanting containers for saving space.)
